Is there a dock to tie up a small boat while we eat??
Best place on the Seacoast! Great food and the two ladies were wonderful. They make sure your time at Morrisonsβs is worth your while. The view of Portsmouth and the river is spectacular. A truly first class experience!
MoreNever ever miss a chance to sit here in the middle of the water, eat clams, drink wine and watch the sun go down as the bridge goes up. Perfection!Update. This is the perfect place to get out and social distance. Get out. Enjoy the air. The food. The atmosphere. And BREATH!
MoreA true gem! Chowdah! Lobsters in the rough, steam clams! BYOB. And some of the best views! Bring a cooler with a few favorite side dishes, some beverages, and relax...
MoreI'm an old new englander transplanted to florida. Every trip north I seek to find a connection to old new England .... lobster in the rough is one. Morrisons is a great example, you bring your own drinks, chow down on freshly steamed lobster and clams. You can't get this authentic at twice the price. And the flavors and ambiance is the icing on the cake. If you go, ask about badgers island trolley and the ferry sunk at the foot of morrisons dock from the 1920s.. It will make for an even more enjoyable day.
MoreThe food is excellent! Best steamed lobster we had in Maine! Great staff, very accommodating!
MoreThe staff was so nice and friendly! The view and atmosphere were wonderful and calming! The food was fabulous! The lobster was perfectly cooked and meaty, and the steamers were perfectly cooked and cleaned (no grit!)! It's also awesome that it's BYOB, and the only downside is that it's cash only, but oh you forgot? Have no fear! There's and ATM right there! Wonderful place, will definitely make it a go-to norm for seafood! 10/10
MoreWonderful dockside location with excellent seafood and friendly service.
Lobster roll was bland and the customer service should be worked on. I was not pleased with my service today. But I did enjoy the view. I wouldnt recommend this place.
More- skip the lobster roll and get steamed lobster instead- oysters are okay. Not the best- BYOB- dog friendly outdoor seating right by the water
MoreAwesome lobster in an open-air, on-the-dock venue.Going at dusk is a treat, watching the lights of Portsmouth awake across the channel. If busy, they'll ask you to double up on tables (if you're willing) which is a fantastic way to meet interesting people; we've had so many good adventures begin this way. The steamers and lobster bisque starters are fabulous and my kids report the hot dogs are grade-A, thumbs up, ketchup worthy. The one downside is they close on Labor Day weekend. Get there while you can!! CASH ONLY and BYOB. (These are not detractors but they can be surprising if you haven't been forewarned; there is an ATM 2 blocks away, north towards Kittery; yes, they'll wait).Updated 2014-06-25: They now have an ATM onsite!
MoreThe seafood here is amazingly fresh. Weβve eaten here a few times and never been disappointed.
MoreThe proprietor has been in business so long it seems she's lost her enthusiasm...service was lacking. Lobster was good and so were the hot dogs. Stay away from the paninis...
MoreNice little spot, people and food were great, laid back if you are looking for a casual armosphere. Cash only.
MoreGreat local Place to have fresh lobster. Cash only.
Outstanding. Great lobster and the best steamers in the region. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Overlooking the river it makes for a relaxing outting.
MoreAwesome One Woman Operation. She fetched the lobster and mussels straight from the tank and into the boiling water to our table. Simple fresh limited menu. Very casual. Homemade chocolate chip cookies with the check sealed the deal; we will be back.
Moreoutstanding lobster, claims, mussels, chowder. stopped by about noon, had lunch and watched the boats and Portsmouth's skyline accross the river from Morrison's dock. You walk into a fishermans 20 ft 20ft boathouse behind his home and there are 4/5 stoves boiling water for whatever you want fresh from tanks. Nothing fancy but you get it the same way they have been selling and serving the freshest seafood from New England for 400 years. Priceless!
MoreStaff is not friendly don't know if it was just me. Looks like they are operating out of their garage. It's my fault for picking this place. they don't have much of a selection ham and cheese or Turkey and cheese. I had the lobster roll was alright a little rubbery and the lobster chowder wasn't that good they must put it in a blender no Chuck's of lobster just Sandy grains of what might be lobster.
MoreClassic lobster shack with great views. Their hours aren't up to date on Google as of today so give them a call to find out if they're open!
MoreExcellent service, amazing food and how great it is to be able to BYOB. One of the Kittery's best kept secrets. Check it out folks
MorePlace was not open for business as posted. I came a long distance being New Jersey to my stay in Maine for a fantastic lobster dinner. Guess what, the place was closed and my wife and I had to look elsewhere.π
MoreIt was just okay. Not great, not bad.
Just too good! Every summer we can not wait for you to open! We found this place by boat when we used to take the boat to NH, but now we drive as our boat is in FL! Best lobsters around the area and cleanest steamers ever! HALF AND HALF SOUP is to die for ! Can not wait to go again this summer!
MoreThe staff were very friendly and the waitress was awesome at walking us through cracking open the lobster. Great experience!
MoreGreat lobster, and the clams looked great but I didn't have any. The sides were great!! Everything was reasonably priced. BYOB. You must pay with cash or credit however, although there is a atm on premises. Bathroom is in an odd location, but still nice.
MoreBeautiful setting on a dock overlooking Portsmouth Harbor. Excellent lobster bisque, lobster rolls, steamed lobster. Table service, with pretty basic ME lobster type menu, no frills. Friendly, quick service. Just what we were looking for!
MoreGreat lobster, great view of the water way, very friendly staff. A gem amongst all the lobster places, my favorite among those in NH and Maine
MoreMorrisons Lobster in lottery Maine is the best place to enjoy a lobster in New England. They are a BYOB (so bring a nice bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy) restaurant that sits right on the water and has beautiful views of Portsmouth. Their tanks that hold the lobster pump water right from the ocean the lobsters were caught in. It's an experience like no other. Donna the owner is so amazing too, she's so friendly and wants your experience to be amazing as well.
MoreWow. What a wonderful spot to enjoy some lobster. It is a little inconspicuous from the street but this place is amazing. It's a really intimate setting and you feel like you're hanging out at a friend's house and not at a restaurant. The view of the harbor and the bridges is cool and you can see some ships go by. I had the whole lobster which was incredibly tasty! The corn was cooked just right and I had a small cup of their clam chowder which was full of clam meat. They are cash only, but they have an ATM in their basement so no worries there. The next time I'm passing through, I'll be sure to stop again.
MoreThe lobster was tough for only a pound and a half. I had the same size lobster the next day at Off The Boat Lobsters and it was wonderful. The fact that they figure the tip in automatically for everyone just fosters subpar service and that is what we received. The ATM on premise that charged a few bucks instead of accepting credit cards was just cheesy. I gave them one extra star for the view. The view was beautiful.
MoreDelicious and fresh lobster. Was worth making the trip.
Bare bones byo fresh lobster and clams off the boat and into the pot. Beautiful location on the river. Good sides too.
MoreMorrison's serves lobster and steamers in the rough. Byob and don't forget cups and side dishes. But eat delicious food and have beautiful scenery. A gem.
MoreThis is THE ICONIC Maine lobster/steamers-in-the-rough venue. Morrison's dining room is an open (and, when needed, a covered) deck on the harbor. With seafood as fresh as the harbor air and an artist's view of the town's skyline, a meal at Morrison's makes a Portsmouth summer visit truly memorable. While dining on the best lobsters/steamers/bisque, clam chowder and corn the Seacoast has to offer, enjoy watching the rhythm of the harbor - the State Street Bridge in action as the tug fleet works commercial traffic. I have been visiting Morrison's regularly for the past 15 years - it's a NH seacoast summer season "don't miss." Yes, cash only - and, yes, BYOB - this place provides all of the rest to fulfill your craving for that ideal "Maine lobsterbake" meal.
MoreNice deck outside... Will add more of a review after a 3rd visit.
Steamed clams and my Lobster roll was amazing.
Awesome steamers and lobster! What you see is what you get! at a no frills price to boot, very fair. BYOB (a nice white) and some sides - they had some other stuff to eat but from what I understand it's only on occasion. What a great place to pull up your boat, relax and take in the view. The ladies there were nice, but not overly welcoming, they know they have a great things going and were rather busy. To boot, it was the end of a busy Labor day weekend and the end of the season. We'll be back, fo sho!
MoreWe love Morrison's. We used to come a few times a summer when we lived in Portsmouth and now will stop by if we are visiting. Lobster is delicious and we love brining our own wine and sides and sitting on the dock. Definitely recommend dropping by
MoreGreat place. Fresh lobster. Fantastic views. It seems family owned. A refreshing break from the norm. BYOB and cash only.
MoreA year ago. Really. Must have been good. I do not remember the place.
The absolute best around!Best steamers in the area!!!The view is incredible!Comfortable and the wait staff is very accommodating. Love this place!!
MoreMy wife and I found this place accidentally a few years ago. Right outside of downtown Portsmouth it is the best kept secret on the island. We recently made the 50 mile trip just for a lunch date!
MoreGreat place to dine if you like casual without all the frills. It's the food that makes it so wonderful and the views are great as well. I suggest going for the steamers and lobsters. Tender and very tasty. I will be going back!
MoreDelicious meal on the water! BYOB. If you love clams, lobster, come here.
Very good ambiance, but not great if you're just looking for a quick bite. Lobster Roll bun was not toasted, but meat the meat tasted good.
MorePlace is a gem, fresh lobster. The experience I was looking for in Maine. Don't forget BYOB.
MoreSo great...not super friendly staff though!
Excellent food at great price with a amazing view of Portsmouth, NH. This place is also BYOB, a nice bonus.
MoreGood lobster roll and sides. But sides are from market basket not made here. Bring what you want to drink and your own sides.
MorePerfeeeeeeeeeect, best place ever, the waitress we're just perfect and so nice, and the deck in watter is the magical view u could ever see β€
